Who is your hero?  Name your hero and we’ll help you recognize them!

This recognition won’t be for just today. With any donation to the “Heroes Among Us Fund”, your hero will receive a Heroes certificate letting them know you’re thinking of them and that you consider them a hero. Your hero’s story will be shared on our social media, on our website and at our annual meeting.  And best of all, grants in recognition of these unsung heroes will be made from the Fund in support of our community’s most urgent needs today and for years to come.

Your donation, big or small will recognize your hero or you can also lift the spirits of someone feeling socially isolated.

How to Donate

By credit card:  https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/48279
e-transfer:  info@oxfordcommunityfoundation.org

Please ensure you include:

  • Name of your Hero
  • Address of where to send the “Heroes Among Us Certificate
  • Important:  please include why they are your hero so that we can include this on the certificate and recognize them on our website

All contributions to the Heroes Among Us Fund, in the name of these unsung heroes, will grow and live on forever through ongoing annual grants back to worthwhile Oxford County initiatives. All donations will be pooled and invested together in a Community Fund. The investment income earned will fund annual grants to meet ever-changing community needs and priorities. For examples of how Oxford Community Foundation grants have supported our community, please check out our past recipients under our Grants tab above.

Hero Recognition

Various levels of hero recognition have been established and you are welcome to make ongoing contributions at any time to build the fund in your hero’s name. All donors will receive a charitable receipt and acknowledgement that a contribution has been made to the “Heroes Among Us Fund” in your hero’s name.

All heroes will be recognized in the year of the donation on our website and in our Annual Report. Heroes will receive a Heroes Among Us Certificate and a note informing them that the donor has made a gift in their name. Small or large donations, in any amount, can be added at any time. Once a hero reaches $2,000 in donations, their name will be permanently recognized on our wall of heroes and once a hero reaches $10,000 in donations, individualized community grants will be  made in their name each year.
