Scott Davis was passionate about safety. Taking care of people was not just what he did—it was who he was.
Whether ensuring friends and family had smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, go-bags and first aid kits, or advancing broader community initiatives such as AED programs and Vulnerable Persons Registries, Scott believed deeply in protecting others.
Scott felt strongly that everyone deserved to feel safe, and that being organized and ready was the foundation of true preparedness, not fear.
His commitment to public service extended naturally into volunteer leadership. Scott served on the Board of Directors at Rural Roads Health Services in Ingersoll and as Chair of the Ingersoll OPP Detachment Board of Directors. He also contributed his expertise to the Ontario Association of Emergency Managers and IAEM Canada, and helped expand lifesaving AED programs to Western University, work that will continue saving lives for years to come.
Scott earned his Master of Arts in Leadership from the University of Guelph, reflecting his belief in ethical leadership and service to others.
A dedicated blood donor, Scott gave 126 whole blood donations over his lifetime.
While we lost Scott far too soon, his commitment to keeping people safe lives on through the Scott Davis Community Safety Fund, ensuring that his legacy of care, leadership, and preparedness continues to strengthen communities for generations to come.
Led by his wife, Kim Parker, this Fund is a donor-advised endowment held at the Oxford Community Foundation, with a mandate to grant to community safety projects across the country.
Scott’s Fund exists to advance community safety and preparedness by supporting initiatives related to:
- The purchase and installation of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and other emergency and safety equipment
- Associated training and public education programs
- The development and delivery of initiatives that support vulnerable persons and enhance community resilience
This Fund turns Scott’s commitment to practical preparedness—being organized, equipped, and ready—into tangible support for communities seeking to strengthen safety infrastructure and their lifesaving capacity.
The Oxford Community Foundation oversees all granting processes, due diligence, compliance, investment management, and financial administration in accordance with its policies and charitable obligations.
Scott’s family, as well as a community advisory team, will ensure that each grant reflects the values he lived by for generations to come.
Scott’s legacy is in safe hands.
