ABOUT OXFORD COMMUNITY FOUNDATION GRANT PROGRAM

ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES
To be eligible to apply for a grant from the Community Foundation, the applicant must:

  • Be registered as a charity with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), or sponsored by same
  • Applicant must be located within Oxford County and provide services within the county
  • Provide services without discrimination
INELIGIBLE PROJECTS
Projects the Community Foundation are unlikely to fund include:

  • The construction of educational facilities of any sort or at any level of the educational spectrum
  • Research
  • Direct religious activities of religious groups or organizations
  • Attendance at, or cost of, seminars, conferences, workshops, tours or other traveling expenses
  • Programs that have direct religious or political activity
  • Operating expenses which may imply an extended dependence on Foundation resources for the organization’ s continuing viability
ELIGIBLE PROJECTS
The Community Foundation is looking for projects that:

  • Either the mission of the organization requesting the grant or the nature of the grant itself is conducive to community enhancement or improves the quality of life in the County of Oxford
  • Supports activities in the areas of arts, culture, education, environment, health, recreation and social services

Examples of what we might fund:

  • Capital expenditures such as building construction or renovation, office equipment essential to on-going operation
  • Start-up operating costs for embryo organizations meeting new or emerging needs or opportunities
  • Start-up operating costs for new initiatives by existing organizations where there is a demonstrable prospect for sustainability
  • Short-term funding which may become the determining factor in the continuation of a worthwhile charitable organization
APPLICATION INFORMATION
Organization information that will be required in an application include:

  • Applicant organization, charitable registration number
  • Organization overview including mission and achievements
  • Organization current operating budget and financial statements
  • List of Board of Directors

Project information that will be required in an application include:

  • Project purpose and how it relates to organization’s overall goals
  • Proposed project overview including expect outcomes and impacts
  • Amount requesting, project budget, other project funding sources
  • Project timing
  • Benefits to community
  • How success is measured
GRANT PROCESS TIMELINES
Anticipated application timelines for 2017:

  • September to November 2017.  Detailed timelines are anticipated to be posted mid summer
